At one point, Digboluja's intuition was telling him that something was amiss,
he stopped momentarily and discreetly looked around.
However, he subsequently felt it was nothing and continued heading deeper into the forest,
only to be ambushed by his enemies and strangled. Fortunately, he managed to survive.
They left him in the forest and fled, pretending to be innocent.
There were four perpetrators - Durogbagi, Abanikanda, Alabelewe, and Ajanaku.
Digboluja was one of the five hunters in the village of Abule-Egba.
After about an hour of lying on the ground, motionless,
Digboluja started shaking his legs, while his enemies thought he was dead.
You're surprised, right? Anyway, that's how it transpired.
After all, he managed to stand up and escape to another village called Ijoko,
where he decided to reside to avoid his enemies and Abule-Egba at large.
The people of Abule-Egba mourned Digboluja's death, including the King,
as they all assumed that a wild animal had killed him following his prolonged absence from hunting.
The King who liked him dearly mourned and mourned him over and over again after his failure to return,
assuming he was dead while remaining unaware that he was, in fact, alive.
About a year later,
Abanikanda's conscience began to bother him about what they did to Digboluja,
and he conversed with his colleagues to confess before the King and the villagers.
He told them to confess and face the repercussions rather than living with a guilty conscience.
"What has come over you, do you want to implicate us!" Durogbagi, Alabelewe, and Ajanaku exclaimed.
This continued until everyone in the village of Abule-Egba forgot about Digboluja.
So, after seven years, Digboluja decided to visit his initial village, Abule-Egba, from the village where he escaped.
He journeyed to Abule-Egba at night, unnoticed by anyone.
Coincidentally, Abanikanda and his colleagues were the first people to see him, dressed in white attire from head to toe.
At this moment, they jumped and ran away, frightened, while Digboluja didn't even notice them.
They ran to the palace, frightened, and confessed to the King, thinking it was Digboluja's spirit they saw.
They thought he was going to kill them one after the other due to their past actions.
They ran to the King, hoping he would be merciful and perform some sacrifices to appease Digboluja's spirit.
After confessing to the King, they all shouted in surprise, unable to believe it was them who killed Digboluja.
The King then ordered some men to take Abanikanda and his friends into the prison.
Digboluja arrived, and everyone bowed their heads to the ground in fear, including the King.
But Digboluja kept saying "Kabiyesi o, Kabiyesi o," while prostrating.
The King and officials were silent in fear, but when they noticed Digboluja was still there, they started running away from the Palace.
The King then summoned his courage and asked Digboluja what he wanted.
Digboluja narrated everything that happened to him to the King.
The King didn't believe it until he walked out and poured sand on Digboluja.
With this, he finally believed Digboluja's words. This news quickly spread across the village,
and the King was thrilled to have all the villagers gathered for a celebration.
Digboluja narrated everything to everyone, and they began to sing victory songs for him.
After all, everyone finally believed that Digboluja didn't die.
The King made Digboluja his second-in-command because of his love for him and all he had passed through as a great hunter in the village of Abule-Egba.
FICTION!
