What does it mean to water the wrong tree? 

It signifies misdirecting effort towards something that will yield no benefits when it matures; 

it implies wasting time on futile endeavours; it means labouring for someone else to reap the benefits; 

it means cultivating for another person to harvest.

In addition, when you commence watering the wrong tree, it would be akin to executing the correct action, particularly when timed appropriately. 

This phenomenon is referred to as 'performing the incorrect action at the optimal time.' 

What are the benefits of performing the incorrect action at the optimal time? 

Such an individual is merely squandering his or her time while simultaneously jeopardizing his or her future.

Several individuals today are engaging in misguided endeavours, mistakenly believing they are doing the right things. 

Such persons ought to conduct a self-examination, identify their strengths, and initiate activities that will yield benefits in the days to come. 

Do not squander your energy, and avoid wasting your time on misguided pursuits, particularly while your physical vitality is still intact, 

because the days are approaching when you will no longer possess the same capacity for action as you did in your youth. Where will you seek refuge? 

Who will you turn to when you are no longer able to perform tasks with the same vigor as in your youthful days?

Astonishingly, some parents today are neglecting their children, allowing them to veer off course, which is unacceptable. 

Have you forgotten that those children are your future legacy? Your children are the ones you should be nurturing now and guiding them down the right path. 

Whatever positive influences you have to impart to them, now is the opportune time to do so, as there will come a time when it will be too late. 

Do not neglect your future - your children.

Consequently, mothers make considerable efforts and lay a strong foundation for their children.

By the time mothers have successfully assisted their children in achieving brighter futures, and the children have become better versions of themselves, 

rewarding their mothers by doing great things for them and taking excellent care of them,

while others neglect the fathers, they will then seek the downfall of both the children and mothers. 

This is because, by then, their eyes will be opened, and they will have realized that they have families they ought to care for.

Interestingly, such fathers are taking on the responsibility of caring for another person's children, specifically those of their associates. 

They assume financial obligations, such as paying school fees, while their own children remain at home, relying solely on their mothers for support.

It appears that these fathers are unaware that their efforts are misguided, as the individuals who initially invested in these children will ultimately reap the benefits and claim what is rightfully theirs.

What benefits would accrue to such fathers? 

By the time their neglected children attain prominent positions, they will possess the audacity to treat their mothers as they deem fit. 

These children will begin reciprocating the support and care they received from their mothers, who stood by them until they became better versions of themselves. 

What would prevent such fathers from suffering when they should be resting and enjoying the fruits of their labour? Avoid being frivolous during your youth. 

Ensure that you nurture the correct relationships, specifically with your own family, to avoid neglect when the time comes.
